Actors Alec Baldwin (Glengarry Glen Ross, 30 Rock), Karen Allen (Indiana Jones, Scrooged), and Michael Boatman (The Good Fight, Madam Secretary) lead the cast of writer and director Victoria DeMartin‘s debut feature film, The Cutting Room Floor.
Joining them are Damian Young (Ozark, House of Cards), Jennifer Sklias-Gahan (FBI: Most Wanted, Matilda), Kuhoo Verma (Murder Mystery 2, Plan B, The Big Sick), and Michael Benz (Joker, Downton Abbey, For All Mankind).
The psychological drama, produced by Simon TaufiQue, Danielle Eva Schwob (who will also compose the score) and Ben Leong, follows an aspiring film editor who receives the opportunity of a lifetime, but her world begins to spiral out of control when the film starts to mirror her own life, blurring the lines between fiction and reality. The screenplay, written by DeMartin, recently won First Place in the Golden Script Fellowship, an extension of the prestigious international Golden Script Competition. Casting is being conducted by Lina Todd, CSA / Byron Beane.
“This film is very special to me because it tells the story of an ambitious young woman and explores the space between memory and fantasy,” said writer and director Victoria DeMartin. “It follows a woman piecing together a love story while unraveling her own. It’s about what we keep, what we cut, and the strange ways art mirrors life. I am so excited and humbled to bring this story to life with such a remarkable, talented cast.”
The film is set to go into production in the summer of 2025.
