A feature adaptation of Barbara O’Connor’s bestselling children’s novel, Wish is in the works.

Titled, Wishbone, it will be directed by Brandon Camp (Benji).

Camp will direct from a script by Nicholl Fellowship recipient Joey Clarke Jr.

Wishbone follows “11-year-old Charlie Reese, a rebellious girl who makes a secret wish every day — though when she’s sent to live with her aunt and uncle in the Blue Ridge Mountains, that wish feels more impossible than ever. Through an unlikely friendship with a feisty stray dog, Charlie discovers that family comes in many forms — and that sometimes, wishes do come true.”

Camp is also producing the film alongside Sustainable Imagination’s Jon Levin (Marshall), Mike The Pike Entertainment’s Rich Angell and Mark B. Newbauer, Riverside Entertainment’s Brian Loschiavo (Manodrome), and Scott Emmer (Mr. Mercedes).

Deadline first reported on Brandon Camp directing Wishbone.
