Alpha will be the third featue film from Julia Ducournau after Titane and Raw. Ducournau, of course, won the Palme’dor for Titane and is likely a top contender this year.

Alpha will star Golshifteh Farahani and Tahar Rahim and follows Alpha, an 11-year-old girl in a fictional 1980s city inspired by New York. As the AIDS epidemic unfolds worldwide, one of her parents falls ill, forcing her to confront loss and her own mortality for the first time.

Alpha has been described as Ducournau’s “most personal, profound work” We will surely be seated once the film releases and are excited to hear more about the project in the coming weeks and at its premiere.
