A Pacific Rim TV series is in the works with Amazon MGM Studios and Legendary Television.

Eric Heisserer (Arrival, Bird Box) is writing in addition to serving as executive producer alongside Carmen Lewis under their Chronology banner

Plot details are being kept under wraps, but the series is said to serve as a prequel to Guillermo del Toro‘s 2013 film and its 2018 sequel, Pacific Rim Uprising.

“Eric is a multitalented, prolific creator whose track record of critical and commercial successes speaks for itself,” Jason Clodfelter, President of Legendary Television, previously said. “We are thrilled to launch our partnership with Eric, Chronology, and Carmen, with a new entry in the epic, globally popular Pacific Rim universe.”
