Maul: Shadow Lord was announced Friday during Lucasfilm Animation’s panel at Star Wars Celebration in Tokyo with Sam Witwer, returning to reprise the role as Darth Maul.

The new series is set after the events of the final season of The Clone Wars, with Maul rising again to lead the underworld factions, according to starwars.com.

A clip shown to attendees, reveals Maul training a Twi’lek apprentice that appears to be the future Darth.

The series is currently in production and set for premiere on Disney+ in 2026.
