13 Films will present Tony Kaye’s (American History X) dark comedy, The Trainer to buyers at Cannes Film Festival next month.

It follows, “eight days in the tumultuous life of Jack (Schnabel), a beleaguered fitness trainer in Los Angeles who embarks on a manic journey to achieve his version of the American Dream.”

Starring Vito Schnabel (Before Night Falls) and includes Julia Fox (Uncut Gems), Lenny Kravitz (The Hunger Games series), Bella Thorne (The Duff), Paris Hilton, tennis champion John McEnroe, Gus Van Sant and Gavin Rossdale.

Additional cast include Gina Gershon (Bound), Stephen Dorff (Blade), Beverly D’Angelo (National Lampoon’s Vacation), Taylour Paige (Zola), Luka Sabbat (Grown-ish), Soo Joo Park (Sense8), Brock O’Hurn (The Righteous Gemstones), Laird Hamilton (Point Break), Duke Nicholson (Us), Colleen Camp (Clue) and musician Finneas O’Connell.

The film is produced by Kaye, Schnabel and Jeremy Steckler (Spiderhead, Doom).

The film had its world premiere at the Rome Film Festival and will have its North American premiere at the Tribeca Festival in June.
