La Cocina starring Rooney Mara will stream exclusively on Mubi in the U.S. starting May 2.

Mara stars alongside Raul Briones.

Based on the 1957 play “The Kitchen” by Arnold Wesker, it is written and directed by Alonso Ruizpalacios (Güeros).

“In the heart of a bustling Times Square kitchen, dreams and desperation collide as the staff each chase the elusive American dream.”

It premiered in competition at the 2024 Berlinale and was nominated for best director and best cinematography at the 2025 Film Independent Spirit Awards.
