Universal Pictures’ Miami Vice film has set Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick, F1) as the movie’s director.

Based on the ’80s NBC series, it is written by Dan Gilroy (Nightcrawler).

The ’80s series was created by Anthony Yerkovich and starred Don Johnson, Philip Michael Thomas and Saundra Santiago. In the series, “Resplendent with authentic 1980s music, fashion, and vibe, Miami Vice follows two undercover detectives and their extended team through the mean streets of Miami, Florida.”

The series was adapted into a film in 2006, starring Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx

Dylan Clark is producing along with Kosinski.
