Jennifer Garner (The Last Thing He Told Me) is set to star in sci-fi drama Zygote.

It is based on the short story by Alyssa Hill, who will also write the script.

A director has not been attached to the project yet.

The film center on Parisa (Garner), an elite crisis negotiator who is sent 254 miles from Earth as a response to hostages on the International Space Station. Due to the unexpected nature of the expedition, Parisa quickly realizes this could be her final mission, as she is forced to confront the limits of her life’s work alongside her own mortality.

It hails from Pinky Promise (The Last Showgirl, Eleanor the Great) and Linden Productions (Is God Is, Family Switch).

Kara Durrett and Jessamine Burgum of Pinky Promise will produce alongside Riva Marker and Deanna Barillari of Linden Productions.
