Glen Powell (Twisters) is set to star in Amazon MGM Studios’ untitled firefighter film.

Ron Howard (Backdraft) is set to write and direct the film.

It follows disparate childhood friends, now elite firefighters, who must rekindle their fractured relationship when a series of deadly fires sweep across Texas.

The pitch came from Christina Hodson. Imagine Entertainment and Powell’s banner, Barnstorm, are producing. 

Producers are Imagine Entertainment’s Brian Grazer, Ron Howard, and Jeb Brody, and Barnstorm’s Dan Cohen and Glen Powell. Christina Hodson will serve as EP.
