Apple TV+ is developing a dramedy inspired by Jennette McCurdy’s bestselling memoir, I’m Glad My Mom Died. Jennifer Aniston set to star and executive produce.
It will center on the codependent relationship between an 18-year-old actress in a hit kid’s show, and her narcissistic mother (Aniston) who relishes in her identity as “a starlet’s mother.”
Hailing from Apple Studios, the 10-episode I’m Glad My Mom Died is written, executive produced, and showrun by child actor-turned-writer McCurdy and Ari Katcher (Ramy, Jerrod Carmichael Reality Show).
In addition to Aniston, McCurdy and Katcher, the series’ executive producers/production entities include Sharon Horgan’s Merman, which is behind Apple TV+’s Bad Sisters, LuckyChap, Jerrod Carmichael and Erica Kay.
