HBO’s Harry Potter series has unveiled a first look at Dominic McLaughlin as the boy who lived..

There have also been new cast additions including Rory Wilmot as Neville Longbottom, Amos Kitson as Dudley Dursley, Louise Brealey as Madam Rolanda Hooch, and Anton Lesser as Garrick Ollivander.

They join John Lithgow, Paapa Essiedu, Janet McTeer and Nick Frost, who will play Dumbledore, Severus Snape, Minerva McGonagall, and Rubeus Hagrid, respectively. Additionally they join Lox Pratt as Draco Malfoy, with Johnny Flynn as his father Lucius Malfoy, Bel Powley as Petunia Dursley and Daniel Rigby as Vernon Dursley, Harry’s aunt and uncle. Katherine Parkinson will play Ron’s mom, Molly Weasley.

Along with McLaughlin, Alastair Stout (Ron Weasley) and Arabella Stanton (Hermione Granger) round out the three young leads.

HBO also unveiled the department heads behind the show. These are Adriano Goldman (Director of Photography), Cate Hall (Hair and Makeup Designer), Paul Herbert (Stunt Coordinator), Mark Holt (SFX Supervisor), Mara LePere-Schloop (Production Designer), Naomi Moore (Set Decorator), John Nolan (Creature Effects Design Supervisor), Alexis Wajsbrot (VFX Supervisor), Dom Sidoli (VFX Producer), and previously announced Holly Waddington (Costume Designer). 

The series has been described as a “faithful adaptation” of the beloved books and is being exec produced by the source material’s author J.K. Rowling. Harry Potter is written and executive produced by Francesca Gardiner. Mark Mylod will executive produce and direct multiple episodes of the series, produced by HBO in association with Brontë Film and TV and Warner Bros Television. Rowling executive produces with Neil Blair, and Ruth Kenley-Letts of Brontë Film and TV, and David Heyman of Heyday Films.
