The Legend of Zelda live action remake has had many fan casting and wondering who would play Link and Zelda. We now know who will be playing the titular characters in the adaptation from Wes Ball in 2027.
On Wednesday, Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto revealed that Bo Bragason will be playing Zelda with Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link, alongside what seems to be first-look photos of the actors in costume.
“I am pleased to announce that for the live-action film of ‘The Legend of Zelda,’ Zelda will be played by Bo Bragason-san, and Link by Benjamin Evan Ainsworth-san,” reads the post on Nintendo’s official account. “I am very much looking forward to seeing both of them on the big screen.”
“The Legend of Zelda” is scheduled to debut in theaters on May 7, 2027. Last month, the film was moved from its original March 2027 date “for production reasons,” Miyamoto said at the time.
The live-action adaptation of the beloved video game is being directed by “The Maze Runner” and “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” helmer Wes Ball. Miyamoto and Avi Arad are producing.
