Warner Bros has unveiled the first trailer for Mortal Kombat II.
In New Line’s follow-up to its hit 2021 action adventure Mortal Kombat, based on the blockbuster video game franchise created by Ed Boon and John Tobias, fan favorite champion fighters from the games — now joined by martial artist Johnny Cage (Karl Urban) — are pitted against one another in the ultimate, no-holds barred, gory battle to defeat the dark rule of Shao Kahn that threatens the very existence of the Earthrealm and its defenders.
Simon McQuoid directs from a screenplay by Jeremy Slater (The Exorcist, Moon Knight).
The cast includes Martyn Ford (“The Sandman”), Desmond Chiam (“The Falcon and the Winter Soldier”), Ana Thu Nguyen (Suka), Damon Herriman (House of Wax, The Nightingale), Tati Gabrielle as Jade and Adeline Rudolph as Kitana.
In addition to Lewis Tan as Cole Young, returning cast includes Jessica McNamee as Sonya Blade, Josh Lawson as Kano, Tadanobu Asano as Lord Raiden, Mehcad Brooks as Jax, Ludi Lin as Liu Kang, Chin Han as Shang Tsung, Joe Taslim as Bi-Han and Sub-Zero, Hiroyuki Sanada as Hanzo Hasashi and Scorpion, and Max Huang as Kung Lao.
Mortal Kombat II releases in theaters October 24.
