Nobody 2 has to be the most fun you’ll have all summer at the theater. The sequel brings us back into the world that was crafted in Nobody and amps up the thrills. Bob Odenkirk returns to play Hutch, a former assassin named Nobody. We see the whole family come back from the first alongside some new characters which includes Sharon Stone as the wacky but deadly villain.

I will tell you that Nobody 2 has to be one of the biggest surprises of the year. The film was truly just what I wanted from a summer movie—a whole lot of action with hilarious moments throughout. Odenkirk is no stranger to the comedy world but continues to surprise me when it comes to action. Timo Tjahjanto as director really flares up the sequel with his unique and pulpy vision. The rest of the cast that include Connie Nielsen, Christopher Lloyd and RZA all get their time to shine as well.

The story is pretty simple and straightforward but it’s packed with so many moments that shine. Timo infuses what we have come to love from his previous films as well as the essence from Nobody. It all comes together as high octane action that doesn’t skimp on the visual flair. I found myself getting excited many times as well as trying to control my laughter.

I enjoyed so many of the action sequences as well as the explosive performance from Bob Odenkirk. RZA as well delivers probably my favorite line of the year and you’ll know which one I’m talking about when you see it. Christopher Lloyd just always lights up any movie he’s in and in Nobody 2 it’s truly explosive. Connie Nielsen is the heart of the movie here and plays it so well. You don’t really get much time with the characters as the movie clocks in about 90 minutes, however, they make sure every moment is a standout throughout.

The third act is one of the most wackiest and intense finales I’ve seen in a bit. I kept finding myself surprised at the twists and turns that is packed in the last 20 minutes. Sharon Stone is a clear stand out here as the main antagonist. I promise you haven’t seen Stone in this way and will be extremely surprised. It’s always great to see a movie where clearly everyone was just having a good time. Overall, Nobody 2 continues to showcase that we need more action films that just know how to have a good time.

I definitely recommend checking this one out if you’re looking for a good escape. It’s not redefining anything in the genre but rather just showcasing the talent behind everyone involved. A truly masterfully done simple action story that packs a huge punch. Worth checking out with a full crowd for sure!
