Neon has debuted a trailer for its latest Cannes Film Festival Palme d’Or winner, It Was Just An Accident from Iranian filmmaker Jafar Panahi.

Inspired by Panahi’s second Iranian incarceration, It Was Just An Accident follows Vahid, an Azerbaijani auto mechanic, who was once imprisoned by Iranian authorities. During his sentence, he was interrogated blindfolded. One day, a man named Eghbal enters his workshop. His prosthetic leg creaks, and Vahid thinks he recognizes one of his former torturers.

It stars Vahid Mobasseri, Mariam Afshari, Ebrahim Azizi, Hadis Pakbaten, Majid Panahi, and Mohamad Ali Elyasmehr.

The film was produced by Jafar Panahi and Philippe Martin and co-produced by Sandrine Dumas and Christel Henon, with David Thion and Lilina Eche serving as associate producers. The film is a Les Films Pelléas and Jafar Panahi Production from Iran/France and Luxembourg. mk2 Films represents the international rights to the film.

It will open October 15 in theaters in North America.
