Daniel Day-Lewis’ first role in eight years is in the new film, Anemone, family drama directed and co-written by his son Ronan Day-Lewis.
The film also stars Sean Bean, Samuel Bottomley, Safia Oakley-Green and Samantha Morton.
Per the official log line, “the Northern England–set film begins as a middle-aged man (Bean) sets out from his suburban home on a journey into the woods, where he reconnects with his estranged hermit brother (Day-Lewis). Bonded by a mysterious, complicated past, the men share a fraught, if occasionally tender relationship—one that was forever altered by shattering events decades earlier.”
Anemone will have its world premiere at the New York Film Festival. Focus Features will debut the film in limited release on October 3 before expanding it nationwide on October 10.
