Cineverse has set a November 14th theatrical release date for The Things You Kill, the new film from Toronto-based filmmaker Alireza Khatami.

The film is Canada’s official entry for the Best International Feature Oscar.

Here’s the film’s synopsis:

Questioning the suspicious death of his mother, a university professor and his enigmatic gardener descend into a hypnotic maze of mirrors and memories. As family secrets surface and painful truths emerge, they spiral toward a devastating reckoning with the darkness lurking within us all.

The film premiered in the World Cinema Dramatic Competition at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, where it won Khatami the Directing Award. Khatami directed from his own script and also produced the picture, which stars Ekin Koç, Erkan Kolçak Köstendil, Hazar Ergüçlü and Ercan Kesal. Pic is co-produced by Tell Tall Tale, Fulgurance, Remora Films, Lava Films, Band With Pictures and Sineaktif. Mongrel Media is releasing it in Canada, with Best Friend Forever repping international sales.
