Jared Hess is returning to direct A Minecraft Movie 2.

The screenplay by Jared Hess & Chris Galletta is under wraps.

It is produced by Legendary’s Mary Parent and Cale Boyter as well as Roy Lee, Eric McLeod, Kayleen Walters, Torfi Frans Ólafsson and Jason Momoa who starred in the original pic.

The first film is from Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures and starred Jason Momoa, Jack Black, Emma Myers, Danielle Brooks, Sebastian Eugene Hansen, with Jennifer Coolidge.

Legendary is returning as financier and producer.

It is set to release July 23, 2027.
