The new PvP mode for The Outlast Trials, Invasion game mode is out now! Beginning today, real, live Reagents can now become Imposters, wielding knives and invading your Trials via the Sleep Room Terminals. In addition, available now in-game are two new exhilarating MK-Challenges, the return of Program Geister, a new time-limited catalog, and a new in-game store for players to discover new exclusive outfits, DLC packs and Catalogs from past events. Players can also tune in on Twitch until November 18 to unlock themed and stylish The Outlast Trials Twitch Drops! 

The new Invasion Mode allows players to join as either a Reagent or an Imposter, but only a limited number of Imposters can invade any given Trial: while the others wait, they act as the the eyes and ears of their murderous teammates. Each Imposter will get a chance to invade the Trial, as their peers succeed in their sabotage… or die trying. This new game mode is a lasting addition to The Outlast Trials, and a permanent fixture of its gameplay. 

Observing invaders can ping their targets to help strategize and keep their fellow Imposters informed. Once an Imposter has spawned into the map, their objective is to identify the location of the Trial’s Reagents, sneak up on them, then bring them to a violent end, armed with nothing but their trusty knife. Knife attacks come in the Slash or Stab variety: the former quickly deals damage while the latter is an instant-kill that requires charge-up and close proximity to properly execute. 

Imposters only have a limited time to take down their target. Once the time limit elapses, they must return to the nearest Insertion Gate or risk electrocution — and even death, resulting in a time penalty before their next respawn. But fear not, for Imposters are capable of seeing the noise and disturbances that Reagents cause, giving them an extra edge against their targets. At the end of the match, Imposters are evaluated based on the amount of damage inflicted on Reagents, as well as the number of slain Reagents and for staying alive through their turn. And lastly, Imposters are incapable of picking up Reagent items, but are uniquely immune to psychosis gas and Prime Asset effects. 

Other features included in the upcoming major update for The Outlast Trials include the Geister 2025 New Time-Limited Event and Time-Limited Catalog, two new MK-Challenges (Beguile the Children and Investigate the Minotaur), and the debut of the new In-Game Store.
