Brendan Fraser and franchise co-star Rachel Weisz are coming back for The Mummy 4, with Radio Silence duo Matt Bettinelli-Olpin & Tyler Gillett (Scream, Ready or Not) directing.

The Hollywood Reporter details in their report, “One source describes the project as not a reboot, but rather a sequel that would disregard the events of the third movie.”

David Coggeshall (Orphan: First Kill) wrote the screenplay for the new movie.

Brendan Fraser starred as Rick O’Connell in The Mummy, The Mummy Returns and The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor between 1999 and 2008.

One response to “‘The Mummy 4’ – Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz to Return with Radio Silence Directing”

  1. […] Not a Reboot, But a Sequel (Kind Of): Sources suggest this won’t be a complete reboot of the series. Instead, the new movie is likely to ignore the events of The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (the controversial 2008 film) and pick up more directly from the first two movies.
