Independent Film Company has unveiled the trailer for THE PLAGUE, the haunting psychological thriller from Charlie Polinger, marking his directorial debut. The film stars Joel Edgerton alongside newcomers Everett Blunck, Kayo Martin, and Kenny Rasmussen. It is written by Polinger and produced by Edgerton.

Here’s the film’s synopsis:

At an all-boys water polo camp, a socially anxious twelve-year-old is pulled into a cruel tradition targeting an outcast with an illness they call “The Plague.” But as the lines between game and reality blur, he fears the joke might be hiding something real.

The film is produced by Spooky Pictures, Doublethink, The Space Program, Five Henrys Productions and Image Nation – including Lizzie Shapiro, Lucy McKendrick, Edgerton, Steven Schneider, Roy Lee, and Derek Dauchy. Executive producers are Ben Ross, Rami Yasin, Gabi Antal, James Presson, Cory Finley, Cullen Conly, Gus Deardoff, Lexi Tannenholtz, and Reuben Walker. 

The Plague will release theatrically in NY and LA on December 24, and expand wide on January 2.
