Zhao directs from a script she wrote with Maggie O’Farrell. Jessie Buckley, Paul Mescal, Emily Watson and Joe Alwyn star.

Hamnet had its world premiere at the Telluride Film Festival and it then screened at the Toronto International Film Festival, where it won the People’s Choice Award.
