Netflix has acquired the film rights to Torso, the true crime graphic novel about the Cleveland Torso Murderer.
Weapons filmmaker Zach Cregger is producing under his Subconscious banner.
Vertigo Entertainment’s Roy Lee (Weapons, IT) is also producing alongside Nick Antosca and Alex Hedlundvia their Eat the Cat (“Cape Fear,” “Chucky”).
Torso creators Brian Michael Bendis and Marc Andreyko will executive produce.
Torsowas originally published as a six-issue limited series by Image Comics between 1998 and 1999.
It tells the true story of Eliot Ness after his famous Al Capone escapades. The lawman moved to Cleveland, where he became embroiled in the hunt for a serial killer who was leaving torsos in the river and taunting notes to police.
