The first look at Prime Video’s God of War series is here.
The newly released image shows Ryan Hurst (Sons of Anarchy) as Kratos and Callum Vinson (Chucky) as Atreus.
The live-action adaptation of PlayStation’s massively popular ancient mythology-themed video game franchise has received a two-season order from the streamer.
It follows father and son Kratos and Atreus as they embark on a journey to spread the ashes of their wife and mother, Faye. Through their adventures, Kratos tries to teach his son to be a better god, while Atreus tries to teach his father how to be a better human.
The cast includes Mandy Patinkin (The Princess Bride) as Odin, Ed Skrein (Deadpool) as Baldur, Max Parker (Vampire Academy) as Heimdall, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson (NOS4A2) as Thor, Teresa Palmer (Warm Bodies) as Sif, Alastair Duncan (God of War) as Mimir, Jeff Gulka(The X-Files) as Sindri, and Danny Woodburn (The Witcher) as Brok.
Ronald D. Moore (Battlestar Galactica, Outlander) serves as showrunner and writer, with Emmy-winning director Frederick E.O. Toye (Shōgun, The Boys) helming the first two episodes.
Moore executive produces alongside Maril Davis, Cory Barlog, Naren Shankar, Matthew Graham, Asad Qizilbash, Jeff Ketcham, Hermen Hulst, Roy Lee, and Brad Van Arragon. Joe Menosky, Marc Bernardin, Tania Lotia, and Ben McGinnis serve as co-executive producers.
