John Leguizamo (Land of the Dead, John Wick) has been cast in writer-director Mike Flanagan‘s The Exorcist.

He joins Scarlett Johansson, Laurence Fishburne, Jacobi Jupe, Diane Lane, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Sasha Calle.

It was also announced today that Rahul Kohli, Hamish Linklater, Gil Bellows, Carl Lumbly, Robert Longstreet, Matt Biedel, Samantha Sloyan, Kate Siegel, John Gallagher Jr., Benjamin Pajak, and Carla Gugino have been added to the film’s cast.

The film will tell an all-new story set in The Exorcist universe.

Flanagan is producing via his Red Room Pictures banner alongside Jason Blum for Blumhouse-Atomic Monster and David Robinson for Morgan Creek Entertainment. Executive producers include Red Room’s Alexandra Magistro and Blumhouse’s Ryan Turek.

Universal will release Flanagan’s The Exorcist in theaters March 12, 2027.
