Dark Star Pictures acquired North American rights to Brandon Daley’s feature debut, $POSITIONS, opening in theaters in select US cities beginning April 3rd, 2026, with a digital release date of May 12th, 2026 to follow. $POSITIONS had its World Premiere at SXSW ’25 and Quebec Premiere at top genre festival Fantasia, where it drew comparisons to the Safdie Brothers’ high-octane films as well as the absurdist off-the-wall comedy of Tom Green and the Farrelly brothers.

$POSITIONS follows a blue-collar Midwesterner as he attempts to save his family from the throes of poverty by investing their savings into speculative cryptocurrencies. As his investment strategy decays into a full-blown gambling addiction, he sends his life into a nightmarish anxiety-inducing downward spiral. 

$POSITIONS stars Michael Kunicki, Vinny Kress, Trevor Dawkins, and Kaylyn Carter and was written and directed by Brandon Daley, his feature debut. $POSITIONS is thrilled to introduce Vinny Kress, an aspiring actor from Chicago with Down syndrome, in his first leading role. Among the film’s producers are prolific music video producer Jake Bloom and Ben Gojer (ALL JACKED UP AND FULL OF WORMS). Executive producers are Eddie Linker, whose credits include the Sundance breakout GHOSTLIGHT, Steve Lanus, and Amar Gupta. Tax credit financing by Missing Link Films.

Much like my protagonist, it’s not my logic that got me to this point, but instead my unrelenting faith.“
