Harrison Ford Joins MCU As Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross

Harrison Ford is joining the MCU as Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, replacing the late William Hurt. Ford will appear as the character in 2024’s Thunderbolts and Captain America: New World Order.

The fourth Captain America film follows the events of Disney+ series The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.

William Hurt as General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross

Hurt first played Ross in 2008’s The Incredible Hulk as a U.S. Army general instrumental in transforming Bruce Banner into the Hulk. Ross appeared again in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War, with brief appearances in Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame and Black Widow. Hurt passed away at the age of 71 on March 13, 2022.

This will be Ford’s first film within the MCU. However, he is no stranger to blockbuster franchises, with starring roles in Indiana Jones and Star Wars.
