The indie horror film Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey was first announced in May. Directed by Rhys Frake-Waterfield, it is set to be a dark retelling of the classic Winnie the Pooh story that imagines the characters as murderous maniacs.
Dread Central released the official poster for the upcoming movie, which showcases both Winnie and Piglet ready to unleash violent mayhem. It states, “this ain’t no bedtime story.”
In this version, Christopher Robin has left for college, essentially abandoning his old friends. This then leads to Winnie and Piglet becoming monsters. “Christopher Robin is pulled away from them, and he’s not [given] them food, it’s made Pooh and Piglet’s life quite difficult,” Waterfield recently told Variety.
There is no set release date for Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey.
