Dwayne Johnson appeared at Comic-Con in full costume as Black Adam. After his grand entrance, Johnson unveiled a new trailer for his upcoming DC film.
The film will introduce the Justice Society of America. From the trailer, it seems as if Doctor Fate will be bringing the group together. In the comics, the Justice Society of America was originally comprised of Doctor Fate, Hourman, the Spectre, Sandman, Atom, The Flash, Green Lantern, and Hawkman.
The trailer also shows Atom Smasher. According to Noah Centineo, who is playing Atom Smasher, the character is “trying to prove himself” in the upcoming film. During the panel, audiences also learned that Amanda Waller will be in the film as well. Viola Davis played Amanda Waller in Suicide Squad, The Suicide Squad, and the Peacemaker series spin-off.
Fans from the audience also had a chance to ask some questions of the cast and director. A fun question that was asked was whether Black Adam or Superman would win in a fight. Johnson responded by saying, “pound for pound they’re pretty close…it all depends on who’s playing Superman.”
Warner Bros. has a lot of DC projects in store for 2022, including DC League of Superpets and Shazam! Fury of the Gods. Black Adam premieres October 21, 2022.
