The Texas Chain Saw Massacre videogame will be releasing next year. Based on the 1974 film of the same title, the game is an asymmetrical horror experience. Leatherface, the Cook, and the Hitchhiker have already been confirmed as characters.
Gun Interactive, the studio behind the upcoming videogame, teased Grandpa Sawyer will be a part of the game, but that his role will be different. Leatherface, the Cook, and the Hitchhiker are likely to be performing the slashing parts of the game, but Grandpa’s role hasn’t been confirmed.
The Gun Interactive team tweeted, “Hammer us with your theories on Grandpa’s role.” Fans had different responses, one guessed that “he’s gonna be alerting the other family members of your location.” Another fan said that he will be “either a trap or something to finish off a survivor.”
It will be interesting to see what Grandpa’s role will be in the upcoming game, which is set before Tobe Hooper’s original film. The game is set to launch in 2023.
