HBO Max today has announced a slew of projects and also rebranded to simply just MAX. The streamer announced new TV series and one of those is Harry Potter. Yes Harry Potter is coming back as a reboot for MAX. We will see a decade long tv show that will cover all the books in the series. We got the following about the Harry Potter series from MAX which will be executive produced by Rowling.

“The stories from each of Rowling’s Harry Potter books will become a decade-long series produced with the same epic craft, love and care this global franchise is known for. The series will feature a new cast to lead a new generation of fandom, full of the fantastic detail, much loved+ characters and dramatic locations that Harry Potter fans have loved for over 25 years. Each season will be authentic to the original books and bring Harry Potter and these incredible adventures to new audiences around the world, while the original, classic and beloved films will remain at the core of the franchise and available to watch globally”

It’s definitely an interesting piece of new to learn that Harry Potter is already getting the reboot treatment. The last movie in the franchise Deathly Hallows just recently came out about ten years ago. Of course the controversy that has followed J.K Rowling’s recent statements have made some fans reconsider the love for the franchise. As of now there are no more details on the series or casting.

Harry Potter is definitely one of the best selling franchise so it makes sense why Warner Bros is seeking to capture lighting in a bottle again. The big question is will this work?
