Talk To Me the surprise hit from this year’s Sundance, just recently had a huge debut at the cinemas. The Australian horror film which had a production budget of 4.5 million went on to make 10 million at the box office so far. This gave A24 one of their biggest box office openings since Hereditary. Of course, a sequel would have been in the talks and today we got confirmation that it is in fact happening.

A24 took the time to announce the sequel today with a short teaser using audio and clips from the film. We then see the hand turn in to a “2” with a coming soon logo appearing. Talk To Me is not the only A24 horror film with a sequel as just recently we had Maxxxine be announced after the success of X which spawned its own prequel, Pearl. A24 is clearly leading when it comes to original ideas alongside other independent studios. A24 is also building franchises and the possibilities are exciting.

The film ended with an open-ended finale and laid out some loose ends that could be explored in the future. Of course, one of the big questions I think many had was where did the hand come from? Although several theories are laid out in the film, none are actually confirmed. We do know the directing duo Michael and Danny Philippou shot a prequel already so we could be seeing that in the near future. In the meantime we will be anticipating what may come from this sequel.
