The official trailer for A24’s The Iron Claw released today. The trailer looks incredible, and we see its two leads, Zac Efron and Jeremy Allen White completely transformed.

Written and directed by Sean Durkin, it also stars Harris Dickinson, Maura Tierney, Stanley Simons, with Holt McCallany and Lily James. Based on the true story of the Von Erich brothers, who made history in the world of professional wrestling in the early 1980s. The trailer gives us a glimpse of the pressures they faced under the scrutiny of their father, who was also their coach.

Efon, who plays Kevin Von Erich, alludes to the tragedies the family eventually faces, saying that “people said that my family was cursed.” While the trailer shows some happy moments, it’s evident that they will endure a lot.

The Iron Claw will release in theaters December 22.
