‘The Black Phone 2’ Ethan Hawke and the Rest of the Main Cast Will Return

The Black Phone will be ringing again as a sequel has already been green lit and will begin filming soon. The smash hit horror which went on to make 161 million at the box office making it one of the first successes after Covid lockdowns. The film netted around 68 million dollars, so it was a no brainer to see them get a sequel. The film will have Scott Derrickson and Robert C Cargill coming back to write and produce the sequel. We also just learned from Deadline they won’t be the only ones returning.

Deadline reports that Ethan Hawke, Mason Thames (How to Train Your Dragon, Incoming), Madeleine McGraw (Toy Story 4Secrets of Sulphur Springs), Jeremy Davies (Justified) and Miguel Mora (The Black Phone) are all set to return as well. The first movie was based on Joe Hill’s short story so it’s going to be interesting to see where they take the story next.

There is no word yet if Scott Derrickson will be directing but it’s great to see both Cargill and Derrickson still a part of the project. As of now, the film has a release date set for some time in 2025.
