Parker Finn’s Smile, an adaptation of his own short film Laura Hasn’t Slept, will be expanding on the story with Smile 2. Deadline reports that Naomi Scott (Charlie’s Angels, Power Rangers) has been set to star in Paramount Pictures’ untitled sequel.

In the first film, “After witnessing a bizarre, traumatic incident involving a patient, Dr. Rose Cotter (Sosie Bacon) starts experiencing frightening occurrences that she can’t explain. As an overwhelming terror begins taking over her life, Rose must confront her troubling past in order to survive and escape her horrifying new reality.”

It’s no question a sequel was set in order after Smile‘s huge box office success. With a $17 million budget, the film garnered over $214 million.

The sequel’s plot details are under wraps at the moment, but we do know that Smile 2 will hit theaters on October 18, 2024.
