Jacob Elordi Replaces Andrew Garfield in Guillermo Del Toro Netflix Frankenstein Movie

Guillermo Del Toro’s Frankenstein film from Netflix has just shaken things up. We learned of the film last year, and also the stacked cast which includes Christoph Waltz, Mia Goth, Oscar Isaac, Felix Kammerer, Lars Mikkelsen, David Bradley, and Christian Convery. Jacob Elordi, is set to replace Andrew Garfield in the film as Garfield was also reported in the cast last year. Elordi will now play the iconic monster due to scheduling conflicts with Garfield.

Deadline broke the news last year that Oscar Isaac, who will play Victor Frankenstein, and Mia Goth are set to star in the Pic. Del Toro is writing, directing and producing alongside J. Miles Dale, who served as a producer on del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities for Netflix. The Mary Shelley novel follows Victor Frankenstein a scientist who brings a monstrous experiment to life as a tragic creation.

Del Toro has been developing the Frankenstein project for some time and wanted to make a movie centered on the iconic story. It is unknown whether his version would be a period pic or set in modern times. We are excited to see Elordi in this role as he is coming off the hits Saltburn and Priscilla this last year.
