‘Cuckoo’ Teaser Offers New Look at Hunter Schafer

Cuckoo looks to be another horror hit from NEON this year. Cuckoo has been on our radar since its announcement and has us buzzing for its North American premiere next month at SXSW. We have officially gotten a release date and a teaser for the Hunter Schafer led film.

Cuckoo is coming to theaters on May 3, 2024.

In Cuckoo: “Reluctantly, 17-year-old Gretchen leaves her American home to live with her father, who has just moved into a resort in the German Alps with his new family. Arriving at their future residence, they are greeted by Mr. König, her father’s boss, who takes an inexplicable interest in Gretchen’s mute half-sister Alma. Something doesn’t seem right in this tranquil vacation paradise. Gretchen is plagued by strange noises and bloody visions until she discovers a shocking secret that also concerns her own family.”

The film is directed by Tilman Singer. In addition to Schafer, it also stars Dan Stevens (The Guest), Jessica Henwick (Underwater), Marton Csókás (Freelance), Greta Fernández (Santo) and Jan Bluthardt (Luz). Cuckoo is a part of SXSW and one of our most anticipated films at the festival. We’re excited knowing that it was shot 35mm and are so eager to see the result. We can’t wait to see what the mystery will bring with such a mysterious teaser.
