Pourri’s first-ever activation at SXSW was on Wednesday March 13th through the rest of the festival and it brought a mix of music, storytelling, and cheeky charm, creating an experience that goes beyond the ordinary festival vibe. Pourri hosted a variation of activations in conjunction with Rolling Stone, and we got to check out one of these: Camp Funk.

At Pourri activations and events, guests received an NFC-enabled Poo~Pourri pocket sprayer. The tap-enabled Poo~Pourri pocket sprayer served as an all-access pass to ~Pourri x Rolling Stone events. It featured an exclusive Bathroom Finder which will allow users to rate and review public bathrooms in the area. Users were also notified of ‘Daily Drops’, a daily giveaway and reward system for chances to win exclusive prizes including Poo-Pourri for a year, VIP access to Rolling Stone showcases, VIP entrances, 5-star bathrooms and more. We were lucky enough to win a couple of prizes including a Stio beanie and Beach Bum slides!

At Camp Funk, there was a sort of camp vibe, with hot dogs, refreshments, music and camp decor such as coolers, a canoe, and more. The hot dogs were made fresh by “The Hot Dog King” and were really tasty, with plenty of toppings to customize your meal. Along with tasty bites and refreshments, there was even a giant inflatable poop that you could enter and be immersed in video art. There was also an assortment of Pourri products to browse and checkout, and I definitely was surprised by the range including candles and room fresheners. Along with Camp Funk, Pourri and Rolling Stone had other events including The Funk Factory (with performances from DJ Questlove, DJ Johnny Jane aka Janelle Monáe, PREACHER, Danielle Ponder, Soul in the Horn with Natasha Diggs, and more), and Future of Funk (an industry mixer and show brought to life alongside Music Forward Foundation.)
