Paramount’s hit horror movie Smile is returning with a sequel later this year. The film from director Parker Finn will apparently follow a popstar afflicted by the curse. Plot details have been shared at Paramount’s CinemaCon presentation, along with footage of the Smile 2.
According to Slash Film the teaser, “focused on the new character played by Naomi Scott — a music celeb whose glamorous world is about to get dragged to hell. After a few glimpses of her pop star performances, the footage showed Scott’s character getting a shock when a man (Lukas Gage) breaks into her dressing room and smiles creepily at her.”
“Elsewhere in the footage, she is confronted by a kid with braces who flashes her a similar malevolent smile.”
Along with Naomi Scott, Smile 2 also stars Kyle Gallner (Smile), Rosemarie DeWitt (“The Staircase”), Lukas Gage (“The White Lotus”), and Dylan Gelula (Dream Scenario), alongside Raúl Castillo (Army of the Dead) and Miles Gutierrez-Riley (The Wilds).
Smile 2 is scheduled to hit theaters on October 18, 2024.
