Kit Zauhar’s acclaimed sophomore feature, This Closeness, opens at the IFC Center June 7 and will be streaming July 3 on MUBI.

Here’s the film’s official synopsis: “Tessa and Ben are staying in Philly for the weekend to attend Ben’s high school reunion. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the couple has to rent a room in a stranger’s apartment. That stranger is Adam, whose loneliness is immediately obvious to his new guests. Adam quickly becomes an unwilling voyeur to the most private parts of the couple’s life. While Ben seeks validation from old classmates, Tessa is left to find her own affection within the confines of the apartment. When Tessa betrays Adam’s trust, Adam goes to great lengths to assert his dominance over his home.”

The film stars Zane Pais (MARGOT AT THE WEDDING, Starz’s Three Women) and Ian Edlund (Vimeo Staff Picks Shorts “Mixtape Marauders” and “The Claw”) with Zauhar taking the lead, once again carrying the impressive mantle of writer, director, and star that she accomplished to high praise with her breakout debut, ACTUAL PEOPLE —also released by Factory 25— which premiered at the 2021 Locarno Film Festival. Actress and singer Jessie Pinnick (breakout talent of PRINCESS CYD) and multimedia artist Kate Williams round out the cast.
