Vertpaint Games has dropped a first-look gameplay video of their upcoming horror title Ritual Tides.

“We’ve been developing games for clients for years and we’ve built towards this rare chance to craft our dream game and, hopefully, in some small way, disrupt the stagnating AAA space,” says Vertpaint CEO James Macleod. “We want to prove to audiences that what matters is the dedication, love and respect a team has for its project and vision, and we’re crafting a game we genuinely want to play.”

Described as being “exceedingly dark” and “not pulling any punches,” Ritual Tides sees players finding themselves washed up on a beach on the aforementioned island, with the only goal being to uncover the island’s horrific secrets. Players will have a “gun” at their disposal, but not in a typical fashion, which will set this title apart from other games within the genre.

The game is slated for a Q3 2025 launch.
