A film adaptation of Tom King’s comic Love Everlasting is in the works at Sony Pictures Entertainment, Deadline reports.
Love Everlasting follows Joan Peterson who discovers that she is trapped in an endless, terrifying cycle of “romance”—a problem to be solved, a man to marry—and every time she falls in love she’s torn from her world and thrust into another teary saga.
Lenny Abrahamson (Normal People) will direct from a script by Jane Goldman (Kingsman, Kick-Ass, X-Men: First Class). Emma Watts and Element’s Ed Guiney are producing.
King co-created the Love Everlasting comic series with illustrator Elsa Charretier. It features sci-fi and horror elements and “is described as a mix of Groundhog Day and Quantum Leap.”
