A live-action scripted series based on Mattel’s Magic 8 Ball franchise is in the works, which was announced today on Instagram by M. Night Shyamalan and Mattel.

The series is from M. Night Shyamalan (The Sixth Sense, Split, Signs), Emmy winner Brad Falchuk (Glee, American Horror Story, Pose) and Mattel Studios.

According to the official description, the series, co-created by Shyamalan and Falchuk, aims “to reimagine the classic Magic 8 Ball as the centerpiece of a high-concept, character-driven supernatural drama that blends psychological intensity with cultural intrigue.”

Shyamalan wil will serve as director, co-creator and co-showrunner for the project and Falchuk will serve as writer, co-creator and co-showrunner.
