Sabrina Carpenter has inked a deal to star in and produce an untitled musical, inspired by Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland, for Universal Pictures.

DGA Award and two-time Emmy nominee Lorene Scafaria (Hustlers, Succession) is set to direct from her own script.

Marc Platt will produce through Universal-based Marc Platt Productions, which releases Wicked: For Good with Universal on November 21. Leslie Morgenstein and Elysa Koplovitz Dutton will also produce through Alloy Entertainment. SVP Production Development Ryan Jones and Director of Production Development Jacqueline Garell will oversee the project for the studio, with Katie McNicol overseeing for Marc Platt Productions.
