Video game Bloodborne is getting an R-rated animated feature adaptation for Sony Pictures.

In the game, players follow Hunter as he travels the decrepit Gothic, Victorian-era-inspired city of Yharnam, a place of deranged denizens and nightmarish monsters, in the bid to find a blood cure. 

Sanford Panitch, president of Sony Pictures Entertainment Motion Picture Group, revealed the news at Sony’s CinemaCon presentation, confirming the will be “very true” to the gory nature of Bloodborne.

The animated film is co-produced by PlayStation Productions, Lyrical Animation, and Seán McLoughlin, better known by his pseudonym JackSepticEye.
