Writer-director Adrian Chiarella makes his feature debut on the Australian production, which had a buzzy premiere at Sundance on Friday.

Joe Bird (Talk to Me) and Stacy Clausen play star-crossed teenage boys who must escape a violent entity that takes the form of the person they desire most — each other.

Mia Wasikowska (Crimson Peak) co-stars, marking her return to the screen after a three-year break, alongside Jeremy Blewitt, Ewen Leslie (The Nightingale), and Davida McKenzie (Silent Night).

Leviticus was produced by A Causeway Films and Salmira Productions. The film’s producers include Samantha Jennings, Kristina Ceyton and Hannah Ngo. The executive producers are Salman Al-Rashid, Sam Frohman, Simmons Frazier, Daniel Negret, Robert Connolly, Liz Kearney, Dale Roberts and Wasikowska.

Neon will release supernatural horror Leviticus on June 19.
