Houston Comicpalooza is right around the corner and each year its loaded with can’t miss events. We decided to give you some of our favorite ones you can’t miss this year. Of course you can’t go wrong with anything at the event but here’s some to put on your itinerary.
13th Floor Haunted House
If you’re easily scared this might be a skip but for the brave this definitely is a good one!
Dare to enter the 13th Floor Haunted House at Comicpalooza! Experience a spine-chilling walkthrough filled with scares, surprises, and heart-pounding thrills around every corner.
Cosplay Contest
It’s always fun to celebrate the hardwork the cosplayers each year put on. Of course this is a no brainer if you’re a fan of DIY and fashion!
The annual cosplay contest rolled out the red carpet to aspiring and professional cosplayers who showed off their best and greatest creations for the chance to be awarded the best in their category
Street Dancer 3rd Strike!
Okay so as a fan of comics and dance battles this one is definitely at the top of my list!
Houston’s top dancers hit the stage at Comicpalooza for a high-energy dance battle hosted by J. Parker. Sixteen dancers form eight two-person teams and compete through choreography, freestyle, and character-inspired routines that showcase their favorite fandoms and unique styles. The competition follows a bracket format—eight teams in round one, four in round two, and a final head-to-head showdown to crown the champions.
Full Steel Combat
This has been a yearly tradition for me since going to comicpalooza. You definitely want to get there early for a good seat but the energy will have you hyped no matter where you are.
Knights are a part of the fantasy psyche as much as dragons and tyrant kings. Fans watch knights participate in melee combat, hear the ringing of steel and the clashing of swords, and root for their favorite knights throughout the weekend.
Itasha Showdown: A Car Runway Experience
Cool cars with some amazing pop culture decals is always a must. The Itasha Showdown is one of my favorites and where I spend a good amount of time at.
The coolest cars on the block return to Comicpalooza! Themed with beloved anime and other pop-culture fandoms, this sight is one to see. And back again this year, check out specialty-designed Houston classic Low Riders!
GUESTS GUESTS GUESTS!
Comicpalooza of course wouldn’t be complete without the amazing guests that they always have lined up. This year in particular is a hot stop for Marvel fans with the Daredevil cast in attendance. You also have Steve from Blue’s Clues and many more! You can check each one at their table or even step in for the panels they will be hosting!
