Cineverse has acquired the digital rights to Balearic for release on its arthouse streaming platform Fandor.

In the film, a trio of ferocious dogs trap four teens in a luxury home’s swimming pool after they break in. Meanwhile, neighbors celebrate the arrival of summer at a nearby villa during St. John’s Eve — a time traditionally associated with magic.

Ion De Sosa directs from a script he co-wrote with Chema García Ibarra, Juan González, Julián Génisson, and Lorena Iglesias.

Lara Gallo, Elias Hwidar, Ada Tormo, Paula Gala, María Llopis, Luka Peroš (“Money Heist”),Christina Rosenvinge, and Zorion Eguileor (The Platform) star.

The Spanish-language movie is produced by Spain’s Umbracle Cine, Jaibo Films, and Apellaniz & de Sosa with France’s La Fabrica Nocturna Cinéma.

MoreThan Films is presenting Balearic at the Cannes film market.

Variety first reported on the acquisition.
