John David Washington (The Creator, Tenet) is set to star in Sony Screen Gems’ supernatural horror movie Mime

Plot details are under wraps at this time, but it’s said to be a horror movie set in a NYC apartment complex in the middle of a heat wave blackout. 

Nanny director Nikyatu Jusu is attached to helm from a screenplay by Stephen Herman (Silent, Black Box), based on his original idea. 

The project falls under Screen Gems’ first look deal with Black Phone 2 filmmaker Scott Derrickson, who will produce with Matt Tolmach under his Crooked Highway banner, as well as Camila Grove.
